Tattoo Designs

Temporary Body Art Ink

Temporary body art ink is a popular option for those who are not sure about getting a permanent tattoo. I will examine a few types of temporary body art in this article. Before I get into that let me discuss a few things about body art. Body art has been a staple of the fashion industry, the body has become a canvas for people to display their creative side. It is has been around as early as ancient civilizations.

Temporary body art is quickly becoming more popular than permanent tattoos. Temporary tattoos have allowed people to have an outlet for their creative ideas. These tattoos are easily customized to one’s ideas, intricate patterns may not work with a real tattoo, but almost anything can be put on a temporary tattoo. The following is a list of reason why temporary body art are more preferred over permanent tattoos.

Why are Temporary Body Art Preferred?

No Needles: Temporary body art allow for the look of a real tattoo without all that pain!

Zero Chance of Allergic Reaction: Needle usage for tattoos can be horrible for those with sensitive skin. Skin allergies can occur with permanent tattoos. This leads to temporary tattoos being the best alternative to real tattoos, without any risk of allergies.

Easily Changeable Designs: This form of art gives you the option to change your designs on the fly. Permanent tattoos are with for near life, if your not sure of a design, just try it out with a temporary one first.

Experiment with Designs: Have the freedom to try different designs. See what other thing about your new tattoo, if you notice people don’t reallyca re for it, more importantly you don’t really care for it, you can experiment with other designs. I bet you wish you can do that with permanent tattoos.

There are three types of techniques when getting Temporary Tattoos, they are as follows:

Stick On Temporary Tattoos:
This is one of the most popular type of temporary tattoos, even popular with kids. Its simple just peel it off and stick to the area that you want it on your skin. Sometimes water is placed to smoothen out the tattoo.

Henna Tattoos:
Henna (also known as mehndi) tattoos are very original and exposes a great cultural flair. It is a paste that comes out of cones that are squeezed out on the skin following a rough design placed on the skin. After it dries, you simply wash it off with water. Henna leaves an orange colour on your skin in the shape of the design that you have chosen.

Airbrushed Tattoos:
This method gives the greatest option in creating a real artistic style for your tattoo allowing for the blending of powerful colors. This is used with an aid of a stencil by an artist and is similar to airbrush t-shirts. Aside from stencil, there are a number of techniques and experienced airbrush artist uses to create that perfect design.

I hope this clears up any questions that you may have had about Temporary Body Art.

Tattoo Designs

Tribal Zodiac Tattoo Designs

For centuries now, people have been amazed by zodiac symbols or what was once known as sun signs. These celestial bodies have captured the imagination of many people, this attraction has translated itself into tattoo art, and is very popular in today’s world. These zodiac tattoos have been popular amongst astrology followers and casual admirers alike. Most people get them based on their belief in astrology and the influence astrology has on their lives.

A person’s personality can be exhibited by their zodiac tattoos. Even if you do now follow astrology, getting a zodiac tattoo usually is a thoughtful choice for a tattoo. Today’s tattoo galleries have made zodiac tattoos into real astrological pieces of art.

The following is a list of zodiac signs associated with astrology:

Aquarius (January 21-February 19) – the water-carrier, man holding two buckets of water balanced across his shoulders.
Pisces (February 20-March 20) – one fish, or two fish swimming in opposing directions.
Aries (March 21-April 20) – a ram, Greek god of war.
Taurus (April 21-May 21) – a bull, usually having horns cocked and ready to attack.
Gemini (May 22-June 21) – male twins, ususally depicted as warriors.
Cancer (June 22-July 22) – a crab.
Leo (July 23-August 22) – a lion with a large mane.
Virgo (August 23-September 23) – the virgin, usually with a long robe.
Libra (September 24-October 23) – a pair measurement scales in balance.
Scorpio (October 24-November 22) – a scorpion with it tail curled ready to strike.
Sagittarius (November 23-December 22) – an archer, sometimes seen as a centaur.
Capricorn (December 23-January 20) – a goat.

The twelve zodiac signs mentioned above are commonly known and instantly recognizable. The descriptions above are the most popular ones, but there are a number of different designs for each zodiac, so don’t limit yourself to a basic design. This attraction to zodiac signs come from the centuries old symbolism and their respective astrological meanings. To kick an extra kick from your tattoo, you should include other symbolic undertones in your tattoo. Let me make a few suggestions:

Select think black ink to in intensify the design, using some tribal-inspired designs with a Celtic or Asian influence. Having a large design with your zodiac signs embedded with it always make a great idea.

Adding color to your zodiac sign is always a great idea. Each sign has a traditional color, the downside is that most astrologers do not agree what colors represent a particular zodiac sign. Do a little research and pick the color that suit you best and matches your skin tone.

A popular trend is to use the color of your birth stone as the color of your zodiac tattoo design. Again these colors vary from culture to culture, but choose the color that best suits you.

I hope this helps you when choosing or discussing zodiac tattoo designs with your tattoo artist. I chose from a great collection of Virgo tribal tattoo designs .

Tattoo Aftercare – Preventing Infected Tattoos

Tattoo aftercare is crucial and is the most important thing you must after your trip to the tattoo artist. Presented below are a few tips for proper tattoo care of your freshly minted tattoo.
You finally went through getting a tattoo after a dare, or to prove your commitment for a loved one, or whatever. I know you thing it looks great and I’m sure it does but you have to take care of your skin, especially for the next couple of days. Many people forget about tattoo aftercare because they are so excited about the getting the tattoo, a sort of tattoo euphoria of getting one. You can still enjoy showing off your new tat to your friends but in the long run, proper tattoo care will keep your skin healthy and increased the years of visibility of the permanent tattoo.

Tips on Tattoo Aftercare:

Your tattoo artist knows what you have to do after you get a tattoo. Listen to them. Most artists have a list of do’s and don’ts for tattoo aftercare. Make sure you listen to their rules or list of aftercare tips and follow them on a daily basis. Some days you may need to have the tattooed area bandaged in order to prevent it from being infected. I can’t stress this enough always listen to the instructions given to you by the tattoo artist.

Make sure to keep the tattooed area bandaged up for at least 3 hours after getting the tattoo. Everybody’s skin is different in texture, skin sensitivity varies from person to person, so make ensure discuss this with your tattoo artist when he or she is given you aftercare tips. Remember never use the same bandage, seriously you’d me amazed what people do to save a buck.

When you are comfortable taking off your bandage, wash your new tattoo with gentle soap and under running water. Gently wash off the surface of your skin with your fingers.

Using a clean paper towel, dry the area by simply patting the skin with the paper towel. Avoid using cloth because it can carry certain bacteria that can react with your skin.

After You Read This, Check out my Review of a Private Tattoo Gallery Site!

Who Is Kokopelli?

Kokopelli is nothing new. In fact, this little hunch-back flute player has been around for centuries and his legend lives on today. Those who know him, know that he stands for the universal symbol of fertility deity for all life. Kokopelli also is inclusive of hopes, dreams, crops and love and many Native Americans honor his symbols.

Some Native American Indian cultures, such as the Zuni and the Hopi tribes, view this fertility symbol and flute player as a God.

No matter if you live in the desert Southwest, live in another part of the country or perhaps have just visited Arizona, your chances of hearing about Kokopelli are quite good. This fertility deity icon God is seen just about everywhere. You will see his picture on countless items such as Native Indian pottery, automobile key-chains, glasses, t-shirts and other clothing, outdoor lights, various home decor, candles, and of course Indian jewelery and much more.

Many ancient petroglyph’s and other Native American pieces of art have long depicted him.

Some people believe that he would announce his arrival to the locals, by playing a flute as he traveled through, looking for women to impregnate, which made him well known for the fertility symbol that he represented. Not only was he an excellent flutist, he was most definitely well known as an excellent lover, which was far more important to the ladies in the villages that he would frequent. And the story describes him as a ladies dream if a woman was lucky enough to meet him.

It’s believed his goal was to attract as many women as he could and from many folks that I have talked to about the meaning behind his legend, he certainly mastered his feat! Whenever he would arrive into a village, he would always be dancing and playing his flute not only his own heart’s content, but also to his lady followers, that couldn’t wait until he arrived into their village.

There are various meanings about what this humpback flute player really stands for or means. Some believe that he is carrying different items on his back in the pictures that are represented of this famous flute-player. One thing is for sure, though. You will always see Kokopelli with a humpback while playing his flute.

Kokopelli is known as the hunch back flute player and sometimes the deity flute player who, put mildly, had an infatuation for women. It was no secret that Kokopelli would do whatever he needed to do for him to have the opportunity to impregnate another woman.

If you want even more Kokopelli goods, you will definitely find your share of things to buy with his face and flute proudly displayed at any of the local swap meets, as referred to in Arizona. Other parts of the country may refer to swap meets as flea markets.)

Even many of the Arizona residents even can’t seem to get enough of him. Kokopelli items are readily available. No matter what your imagination allows, you can probably find his icon on that item. You will also find Kokopelli on wine glasses, blankets, coffee cups, place mats and so many more things. Many have fallen in love with him, too, in a sense. There are many people who are anxious to see the latest of Kokopelli items with this hunch back flute player stamped on it.

Kokopelli was best known as the fertility God but he also stood for a prankster and healer and even a pretty good story teller.

This Southwest symbol has been a source of wonder throughout the country for centuries. This little fellow is a symbol of the Southwest and his legacy has been around for just as many centuries in the American Southwest. Kokopelli can be traced back well over 3,000 years ago. The first petroglyph’s were carved that long ago which depict him which also include carvings of this hunch-backed flute-playing fertility God. If you are longing to see some of the carvings that symbolize Kokopelli, they are not hard to find in many areas that are located in the southwestern states of the U.S.

You can easily find painted carvings that have been carved into rock walls and boulders throughout the desert Southwest.

Although his true origins are unknown, this traveling flute-playing Casanova is considered sacred to many Southwestern Native Americans Indians and always will be without question.

Eagle Tattoo

Strong and mighty are appropriate adjectives that describe every eagle tattoo. Through the years, people have been getting tattoos to boost the ego and bolster fashion sense. In early civilizations, tattoos were symbolic of people’s personalities and social status.

Now, tattoos often do not symbolize anything about the wearer. However, there are still some people who pay high regards to symbolism and representations when it comes to getting a particular tattoo design. If you are planning to get a tattoo, why not choose to have an eagle tattoo? You would surely love it, as do people who already wear one.

What is the basic symbolism of an eagle tattoo? For patriotic and nationalistic sentiments, the eagle is usually a animal representation of the United States. The eagle as you know is among the most admirable of all animals, because it is sturdy, it flies and soars higher and it is very strong.

The eyes are very much fierce, probably accounting why the eagles’ eyes are used in the term ‘eagle’s eye view’. The wings of an eagle are so strong that it is not surprising why eagles are known to be strong and soaring high.

Personality wise, an eagle symbolizes strength, strong will and overall agility. These characteristics are very much identified with nothing else but the eagle. Eagle tattoos are usually worn by men. That is why for quite some time, an eagle tattoo is very much identified as a symbolism for masculinity.

However, these days, some women are also collecting guts to wear an eagle tattoo, but with a different design. It might be the basic symbolisms and representations of eagle tattoos that make them more appropriate for men.

An eagle tattoo can very much be located in any part of the body. Usually, men put their eagle tattoos in their chests, while others prefer to have the skin art on their arms and legs. When considering getting an eagle tattoo, it is also advisable if you would first assess and carefully think about the size.

You can have a small eagle tattoo or a big one. You can opt to have a multi-colored tattoo or a simple, uni-colored one. You can incorporate the flag’s main colors on the eagle or have a close up of an eagle face as your tattoo. Whatever your choice and preference is, in the end, your eagle tattoo would very much indicate your overall sentiment in life.

A Few Tips For Preparing Surfaces For Airbrush Art

The first step for any airbrush art project is that of preparing the surface. Secondly, the type of surface will determine or rather define your entire project work. The prep work to the surface will take care that the paint sticks to the surface and that the airbrushed design is not disturbed by anything.

Material like natural fiber,t-shirts, sweatshirts, denim and others require washing so that it airbrush art cane be applied to it properly. The process of washing will remove any loose fibers and also take care of any shrinking prior to placing your airbrush art design on to the material. It is therefore essential to wash and properly dry your material before you perform airbrush art.

If you are planning to airbrush a leather surfaced item, then it is advisable to wipe it alcohol. This will remove any oily material from the surface of the leather. Otherwise oil can cause the paint to come unstuck. Make sure that all the leather has been wiped down and that the alcohol has dried before beginning. It is also necessary to apply a base coat of Opaque White first before you begin your actual airbrush design.

It is possible that you want to do airbrush art on a wood surface. If so, take the time to use sand paper and lightly sand the wood down by hand. It is recommended to use a hand floor sander for a mural on a wood floor. Always remember that your purpose is to only remove any rough areas from the surface of the wood. If the wood has been waxed or has a gloss coat then sanding this will remove this and allow for the paint to stick to the surface.

When using airbrush art skills for tattoos, it is necessary to rub alcohol on the skin so as to remove any oils from the skin and clean it. Otherwise natural oils present on the skin surface will prevent the airbrush paint from successfully sticking to the skin. This will cause the airbrush art tattoo to come off to soon. The use of talc powder after the design has dried will help to keep oil from building back up and thus still ruining the airbrushed tattoo.

Nails should be clean and buffed prior to beginning. Buffing the nails will give for a rougher surface for the paint to cling onto. Prior to actually airbrushing the nails, a base coat should be applied. It will serve two purposes. This base coat will help protect the nail from the paint and help the paint to adhere to the nail better.

If it a metal surface, it is important to wet sand the metal first. Wet sanding will give a rough grainy effect. This rough grainy effect will help the paint to adhere to the metal. Otherwise metal surface will retain its smoothness and prevent the paint from sticking on to it. Again do not forget to apply a base coat to the metal before you perform any airbrush art design work.

All this only tells that it is really important to prepare the surface comprehensively so as to make the paint stick firmly and properly and thereby make the entire process of airbrush art a success. This way you can rest assured that the paint does not look messed up and you can give full justice to a great airbrush design.

Finding A Tattoo Parlor

This article discusses the factors you should consider when finding a tattoo parlor.

When you’re looking for that perfect tattoo parlor, there are a number of things to consider. Remember finding the right place is crucial if you want to have that perfect tattoo, if you don’t choose correctly then you could be getting a poor tattoo from a poor place.

What are the things you should consider

First off, take a look at local tattoo shops in your area and check them out. Find out if the tattoo parlor is fully licensed and registered. Check to see if they have their safety certificate up to date. A safety certificate is important because you should only get a tattoo from an artist who takes customer’s safety and health seriously.

Just because your tattoo artist is fully licensed and has a safety certificate does not mean that they are perfect for you just yet. Ensure they use fully sterilized needles and equipment at all times. Make sure they always wear gloves and have a clean tattoo area and surface. Make sure your tattoo parlor practices these safety requirement by asking and noticing their work before you get a tattoo.

Safety is paramount when selecting a tattoo shop but there are also other things to watch out for. Choose an artist who can do the work you are thinking about getting. Tattoo artists have varying skill. Most can do tattoo designs that you pick out their tattoo design book or from the wall. Some can do a design that you bring in yourself. Make if you bring in a design that you found on the web, that the artist is confident that he or she can translate the design into a tattoo on your body. Simply ask them, if they sound confident they can do it, go for it.

Lastly, if you are not confident in choosing your tattoo artist after following the above tips, another option is to ask some of friends who have had tattoos and ask them to recommend you to places that they have got tattoos. In the end this is perhaps the most popular way on choosing a tattoo shop, the industry thrives on word of mouth advertising. If your friends have good looking tattoos then you will probably have a great looking tattoo if you go to the same artist that they went to. Another tip, most artists take photos of client who have had intricate tattoos done, ask to see pictures of past clients, this usually put people in a comfortable position when finalizing there chose of an tattoo parlor

In summary, always take your time when selecting the right tattoo parlor, shop or artist. Look for a professional who know what they are doing. Ensure at minimum they at minimum follow health and safety rules. More importantly, they have the skill to give you the tattoo of your dreams.

Considering the advancements made in tattoo removal technology, many would-be tattoo customers mistakenly believe that they can always change their minds later, and cover up or entirely remove a tattoo at will.

DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD CELTIC TATTOO ARTIST IN PHILADELPHIA?

Once again people seem to be hung up on the negative side of tattoos, instead of looking at them as a form of art and self expression. A councilmen in Ralston city is causing a stink about a tattoo parlor that has just opened up.

Tear Tattoos?

There has been much debate and confusion over “What Do Tattoo Tears” mean. Well there are a number of ideas of what this tear tattoo means. According to urbandictionary.com the original tear tattoo was first found in Australian prisons. Kind of fitting since Australia was founded as an English penal colony.

Australian prisoners would forcibly place this tattoo on an inmate who was serving time, for being a sexual predator on minors (pedophile). When an inmate was know to be incarcerated for this crime, other inmates would corner the pedophile and place the tattoo on the right eye, so that is very visible as there were on the left side of their cell. This act was seen as proson justice and would be tollerate by most prisons. This act is now very rare,in Australia today.

In the United States, the meaning has changed quite differently over the years. This prison theme with the tear was carried over to American prisons. At first it was introduced to show that the person was incarcerated in prison for killing someone. This tear would symbolize remorse for that act, and usually get the tattoo after they had left prison.

During this time, outside of the prison world, some people got the tattoo for an entirely different reason. Although rare at the time, the tear tattoo represented the loss of a loved one, usually a wife or close family member. This ink was supposed to symbolise remembrance and closure.

Another important factor with the tear drop tattoo, is if its colored in or just an outline of a tear. If the tattoo is just an outline of a tattoo, then it represents that a friend was killed. If a tear drop tattoo is colored in, than that means that your friend has been killed and that the wearer had avenged the friend’s death.

Now it has becoming a fad in pop culture, a number of celebrities have tear tattoos, like Lil’ Wayne and Amy Winehouse.

Tear tattoo, for example, can be symbolic of murder, where one tear symbolizes the loss of a friend. Also, the United States military have an equally well established and longstanding history of tattoos.
